School Board Update

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

SCHOOL BOARD UPDATE

On behalf of the Whenuapai School Board, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Adam Cels as the new Principal of Whenuapai School, commencing in Term 1, 2022. 

Adam brings with him a number of years of experience in education, 13 of those as a Principal including the last 8 years as the Principal of Te Huruhi School on Waiheke Island. 

We are excited to have Adam on board and we know that he is looking forward to creating a personal connection with all staff, students, and families at Whenuapai School next year.

This appointment also means next week we will be saying farewell to Raewyn Matthys-Morris. As the Presiding Member and on behalf of the Board, it has been a pleasure working with Raewyn since she started at Whenuapai in July 2015. Raewyn has done a tremendous amount of work for our staff, students and community over the last six and a half years. The school has been privileged and very fortunate to benefit from her strength, leadership, drive and experience.

On behalf of the Board, I wish Raewyn and Jim all the very best for the future.

2021 has been a challenging year for everybody and we thank you for your continued support as we navigated through this time together.

We now look forward to an exciting 2022.
