Principal’s Update – 17 September 2021

Dear Parents, Caregivers and Whānau,

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last four and a half weeks. Haven’t our teachers done an amazing job with our distance learning? I am incredibly proud of our Whenuapai School team! Our teachers and staff have appreciated the positive feedback from so many of you.

Today I just want to share with you a couple of generic notices:

Covid-19 Information – Information and advice on Covid-19 is provided in alternate formats, such as Easy Read, New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL), braille, audio and large print. Please click here for these options.

Information is also available in a number of different languages including:

Te Reo Māori

Please click on the links above to access the translated information.

New Feature on HERO – Caregivers are now able to filter posts on the community feed page. You can narrow the community feed page down to view only posts published by a specific author and/or to view posts that were sent to a specific group or class.

Additionally, caregivers with students at more than one HERO school are also able to filter their Community Feed by school to see only posts from one school.

Please click here for more information.

Students also have this capability on their student feed page.

Hard Copy Resources – if you didn’t manage to get a copy of the hard pack resources for your child/ren and still wanted one, please email Molly at mfletcher@whenuapai.school.nz to arrange this.

Board Meeting – the Board meeting scheduled for next week has been postponed until Wednesday, 27 October 2021 (second week of Term 4).

Kiwi Competitions Spelling Bee – The Kiwi Comp Spelling Bee sitting window has been extended until 22 October 2021. We will communicate exact dates with you closer to the time.

AAIMS Sports – there will be no AAIMS zone or Interzone sports competitions for the rest of term 3. AAIMS competitions will only recommence under Alert Level 1. We will keep you updated on any more changes.

Please take care and let us know if there is anything you need to support you and your children.

Ngā mihi nui,

Raewyn Matthys-Morris
