Whenuapai Sport 2011
Welcome to Whenuapai Sport
At Whenuapai we strive to give all our students the chance to participate in sport, experience the enjoyment of sport and be exposed to top quality coaching. We do this by providing expertise from outside sporting organisations, being a member of the local schools sports cluster who has employed a sports activator and working closely with Kelly Sports.
We enter Hockey Teams in the Harbour competition and Netball teams in the Waitakere module. We are also very heavily involved in the Year 7 and 8 Sports Organisation which runs inter-zone days for our zone and gives the chance for student to be able to go to the Auckland Championships. Whenuapai also play in the Rippa Rugby module run by North Harbour Rugby and enter teams in the Term 4 Touch competition.
Whenuapai has shown itself as a school that strives to be active on the sporting field. We have a huge increase in numbers playing sport for our school and will be sending our biggest team to the National AIMS Sporting Tournament in September (the only school in the North West that has participated).
We have also gained sponsorship for our year 7 and 8 Netball teams Isometric our schools ICT Providers.
