Basketball with the Breakers

On Friday Laurence from the Breakers came to teach us about basketball. First we played a game where we had to touch the person in front of us while we were dribbling the ball behind them.

After that we learnt about passing and the other skills we used when we were dribbling and passing the ball. We practised these skills in pairs and small groups.   

Last of all we played a game called Golden Child which is a game where there are two teams that race against each other. One team is the running team and the other one is the shooting team. The running team has to run around the court while the shooting team tries to shoot goals as fast as they can. If the shooting team scores a goal the person running around the court has to freeze. Once a runner is frozen or reaches the end of the court the next person goes. Only the Golden Child who is the last runner on each team can unfreeze the people that they pass. We really liked Laurence coming to teach us about basketball and we hope he comes again.
