Room 16

Welcome to Room 16

We are a year 7/8 class in Team 1.

Our teacher is Miss Donna Hird.

We have 29 students in our class.

This term we are studying the mighty Kauri.  We are looking at all aspects of forestry, from the past to the present.  Our shared novel is "Kauri in my Blood" by Joanna Orwin.  It is diary of life in the 1920's in Coromandel.

For art we are looking at the work of Robyn Kahukiwa.  We have all sketched a picture of a family member with a cloak.  Then we had to paint these and complete a border with a name and a pattern or a quote.  These will soon be on display in our room.

For maths we have continued with ANP Maths.  We have also been looking at Statistics and Probability.

In Reading we have been using the SRA kits and have now moved on to reading myths and legends from New Zealand and around the world.

Our Year 8 students have all enrolled for high school and college and are now waiting to here about where they will be going next year.
